But I Digress...

On the positive side: British Airways eventually found our luggage...
Negative side? It went to London, back to Washington, to Chicago and back to London before arriving last night.

Positive side? I have not come down with violent heaving flu.
Negative side? Everyone else in the house has.

Positive side? Zoe is adorable and Karl and Lizzie have been wonderful. :)
Negative side? Sorry, don't have one for that.

Will update more once Keith has been nursed back to some form of health...

Who's a big junkie with her wireless connection card? Oh yes, that would be me - doing the grand tour of US airports this week. Currently parked on the floor of the American Airlines terminal in LAX. Just a few gates down the hall is a lovely little spot where I once spent two hours asleep in a corner on the floor after an E3. Good times, baby. Good times.

It occurs to me that I've actually done a helluva lot of business traveling in the last few years compared to the earlier parts of my career. While I look forward to the quieter behind-the-scenes role in my future, I think I'll miss the traveling a bit. It's odd, but I like checking out new airports. Flying? Not so much. But airports? They're fun!

As for the rest of the trip? Much fun. Boat tour around Alcatraz was cool and chilly. Chinatown was fascinating. I could have people-watched there all night. And walking through the streets of San Francisco made me feel less anxious about missing my workout on Friday. Ow. You could not live in that city and be out of shape.

More later - when I'm actually home in my casa with my fattie kitties!

Coming to you live from the Dallas/Ft. Worth airport, where I've been merrily stranded for the afternoon. On the way to San Francisco with Keith and a few other folks I know to visit the headquarters of my old employer. Long story behind that, but essentially, I'm just along as a tourist. We flew into the airport this afternoon for a quick stopover, but Mother Nature got involved and left us here in the midst of hail, wind, rain, and tornados for a few hours. We've finally got a flight to San Francisco leaving soon, and I've got wi-fi connection, so all is looking up!

Now if only I could find a power outlet. Or perhaps the power fairy would deliver me a battery out of thin air...
